Boarder Room

This room depicts how we think a boarder's room would look.  It would have cost $3.50 per week.  Like most boarder rooms, this room has a small closet.  People didn't have a great deal of clothes in 1900. Rooms like this were used for sleeping only and usually filled with the occupant's own furniture.  After a boarder left or died, their furniture was often left behind.  The attic was often full of old furniture from past boarders.
