Some of Waynesville's past residents can't seem to depart their beloved hometown founded in 1797, perhaps explaining why the Village is named "The most haunted Village in Ohio" in author Chris Woodyard's "Haunted Ohio" books.
 
 
2013 Monthly Summer Ghost Tours
 
Tour guides will recount stories that defy explanation, some linked to historically based legends from the area’s unique and fascinating past. All of these sightings and experiences have been described by Main Street residents, shop owners and visitors ~ some even occurring during earlier tours. History buffs will enjoy tales of the 215 year-old Village’s famous and infamous personalities.

Hammel House Ghost & Goblet Dinners Offered During Waynesville's Second Saturday Faire

The Museum has partnered with Hammel House's Ghost & Goblet Dinner and Tour every Second Saturday June through August, 2013, during Waynesville's Second Saturday Faire. Spend the day in our lovely little village featuring street vendors, entertainment and more. Top off your day at Hammel House and enjoy our wildly popular Ghost and Goblet Dinner and Tour. Experience Waynesville Ohio's most haunted town, enjoy dinner at Hammel House, Waynesville's MOST haunted building. Be regaled by tales of hauntings, long past and just happened. Then tour our Main Street with the Apparition Authorities, the guides from the Friends Museum. Experience this by Reservation Only, Call the Hammel House: 513-897-3779.

 

Traditional October Ghost Tours - Main Street and Quaker Hill

  

Throughout October, the Museum at the Friends Home culls the most fascinating and true stories of area lore to delight visitors of all ages during tours of downtown Waynesville and the Quaker Hill area. Each one-hour stroll highlights fascinating, historically based legends from the area's unique past based on first and second hand accounts of experiences that defy explanation.  A self-guided tour of the Museum at the Friends Home is included after the tour. Cost is $10 per person.

Our October tours our finished for 2012.  Check here late summer 2013 for our 2013 schedule.  Reservations for the tours can be made by calling the Museum at 513.897.1607 or you may view tour dates and purchase tickets on-line.  

Also in October, special ghost-themed dinners are offered at the historic Hammel House Inn in downtown Waynesville that include the Main Street walking tour and a self-guided tour of the Museum at the Friends Home. Please note...  Over the course of the one-hour stroll you will be walking a distance a little short of a mile.  While we make many stops along the way and benches are available at some stops, you should assess your physical ability to participate in these tours.
