The kitchen houses several items of interest such as an early icebox. Waynesville residents cut ice from the mill race and stored it at the Robitzer Mill that sat at the site of today's Carlisle Gift Shop.  Behind the glass cabinet door was once the dumb waiter to the pantry in the basement.  The kitchen cannot be put back to the original style since we use it now and the county health department will not permit it.
