This area contains Mission style furniture donated by the family of Elizabeth Hunt Hoel.  Elizabeth was married to Captain Hoel, who piloted river boats on the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers.  The Hoels had two children, Elizabeth and Ryan.  Ryan lived at the Friends Home in his later years.

Residents would sit in this area to chat with other residents or to entertain family and friends.  The current library and office were originally front parlors, which could be used for more private conversations among residents and guests.
